Our Suggestions:
- Lalakhal
35km from the city, you can escape the city sounds and be at one with nature. The Lalakhal River against the hillside backdrop is a spectacular view. Take a boat ride and enjoy the view. - Ratargul Swamp Forest
There are only 22 sweet water swamps in the world, and of those, only 2 are located in the Indian Subcontinent; one in Sri Lanka and one in Sylhet. Surround yourself with the beauty of trees, aquatic life and forest creatures. Boat is the only way to enjoy and explore. - Museum of Rajas
10km from Sylhet Airport, this museum gives an insight into the Raja family, the history and legacy of Sylhet, and the life and works of mystic poet Hasan Raja. The museum archives materials related to Bangla folk literature and history, and is also a centre for research in this field. - Malnicherra Tea Garden
Established in 1854, the tea garden is 2.5km from the city centre and was the first commercial tea garden in Bangladesh. Located on Airport Road, it’s a beautiful sight; 1500 acres of green with orange and rubber gardens deep within the estate. - Hazrat Shah Jalal Mazar (widely known in Sylhet as ‘Dargah’)
This is the shrine and resting place of the great Sufi and patron saint of Bangladesh, Hazrat Shah Jalal رحمه الله, who overthrew the tyrant ruler of Sylhet during his time and established Islam in Sylhet, which then consequently spread throughout Bangladesh.
